Mane 'n Tail Shampoo & Conditioner

This review has been a looooong time coming since I've been using this since the start of the year, but I wanted to give it the extra time to see if it actually worked as so many people seemed to have great results with it. I was definitely a little skeptical about trying this... After all, it is horse shampoo! But after years upon years of trying to grow my hair, I read a couple of reviews on this and decided to give it a go.

Even though it is technically horse shampoo, it appears as though many humans use it, and theres 'human' directions on how to use it on the back (it's just the usual lather into wet hair, rinse and follow with conditioner!). As I said, I read so many reviews on girls that were using this and seeing results, and I can definitely see that! In terms of how much my hair grew, it was about 1.5 inches in 3 months. That being said though, by the end of that 3 months my hair badly needed a trim, because the use of this shampoo and conditioner had really dried it out. That was also when I still had the balayage in it, so it was very brittle and dehydrated! I had a trim at the beginning of March and dyed my hair dark brown, and in March alone it has grown about 1-2cm, which is crazy for me! I've been using 2-3 weekly conditioning treatments and I've noticed a difference, so I'd definitely recommend that if you plan on using this shampoo & conditioning combo!

In terms of it actually cleaning the hair, it does a really great job for me. I only need one round of shampoo (two if it's really dirty, but I try not to as it is too drying!) and then I leave the conditioner on for a couple of minutes before rinsing. I also became a little obsessed with washing my hair and was literally washing it everyday, so that would definitely contribute to the dryness I was experiencing! The bottles are also huge, nearly a litre. I started using them around the beginning of January and am only about half way through. They were only $6 per bottle so it's definitely worth the money!

I'd definitely recommend using these if you're struggling to grow your hair, but definitely use a deep conditioning treatment as well! I plan on stocking up again ASAP!

Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer

I go through phases with makeup. Sometimes I really like using blush, other times I don't. I generally feel that way toward concealer, too. I'll use it if I need it, but if its something I can skip then thats a bonus! As I've mentioned before, although I love makeup, I don't wear it everyday and even when I do wear it, I generally count down the minutes til I can scrub it off! For that reason, I like products that are light on the skin, but provide the coverage I need.

I was looking for a new concealer a while ago and decided I wanted to try the L'Oreal Paris True Match Touche Magique Concealer, and I thought I had picked up the product and put it in my basket... But nope, I picked up the highlighter instead and didn't realise til I got home! Silly me. Nevertheless, I still didn't have a concealer so I needed to pick one up! I didn't really want to fork out the money for the L'Oreal one, especially after buying the highlighter that I didn't need, so I had a look at this Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer instead, which was much cheaper, and in to my basket it went!

This does exactly what I want it to. It's light but provides great coverage and doesn't sink into lines in an unappealing way. The colour is great for me too - slightly lighter than my skin tone, so it cancels out unwanted colours nicely and highlights a little too. The only thing I don't like is that it has a brush... It's different, but it's not very hygienic, especially since I frequently use concealer on blemishes!

This is one of my new favourite concealers, and I think it'll be making its way on to the 'repurchase' list!

A quick update

I've just done a quick little update with a fresh new look for the blog! My new header (which I absolutely love!) was made by Kristy. I hope you all like it as much as I do!

I've been a bit slack with posts the past few weeks (lets blame Uni!) but I'm hoping to write up over the weekend and schedule them throughout the next few weeks. Prepare for lots of recipes, too!

Hope you've all been well.
